Callie Cox Joins Ritholtz Wealth Management As Chief Market Strategist

Fast-growing RIA adds Cox to lead client communications on investment strategy and market analysis

NEW YORK, June 17, 2024--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ritholtz Wealth Management (RWM), a national RIA overseeing more than $4 billion in assets for high-net-worth clients and institutions, today announced the hiring of Callie Cox as chief market strategist. A reporter turned investment analyst with more than a decade of experience studying and working in markets, Cox will operate out of the firm’s new Charlotte office and will join its investment committee. In the newly created role, she will collaborate with RWM’s team of financial advisors and lead communications on the firm’s investment strategy to its audience of clients and prospects.

Noted for her ability to simplify complex investing concepts and offer commentary that helps make markets more approachable, Cox will be creating a suite of content to help the firm’s advisors engage with clients around recent market activity, economic data releases and other factors that influence investor behavior. She will also become a member of "The Compound," rotating onto RWM’s multiple programs and podcasts, and will launch her own newsletter and blog called Cautiously Optimistic.

"I’ll tell you how it is; that’s been my brand for years now," said Cox. "I’m honored to join Ritholtz Wealth to be another voice within our team that our clients can rely on to cut through the noise and better understand how markets impact their portfolios and, ultimately, their financial lives."

Prior to joining RWM, Cox was an investment analyst at social investing platform eToro. She has also held investment strategy and research roles at Ally, LPL Financial and First Citizens Bank. Cox began her career as a reporter at Bloomberg, where she covered U.S. stock and options markets after graduating from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.

"Callie loves teaching market dynamics, explaining complex topics and debating investment trends. Those are just a few of the reasons why she’s such a perfect fit with us," said Michael Batnick, CFA?, managing partner at Ritholtz Wealth. "She's already one of the gang, and I can’t wait to work alongside her."

Cox’s hiring at RWM closely follows the opening of the firm’s Los Angeles office led by senior advisor Michelle Katzen, CFP?, CDFA?. As RWM experiences rapid growth, it has continued to add top talent and scale its team of advisors to more than 25 CFP? professionals who are serving its national client base of over 4,000 individuals and families.
