(Reuters) - Car rental company Hertz said on Tuesday it had elected Francis Blake and Lucy Clark Dougherty to serve as directors on its board, increasing the size to 11 members from nine.

The appointments come at a time when Hertz has been slimming down its business due to weak demand and clearing up its EVs after higher-than-anticipated charges related to repairs and overall fleet maintenance expenses.

Blake, formerly Home Depot CEO, was also non-executive chairman at Delta Air Lines. Dougherty previously worked at General Motors.

The Estero, Florida-based company named former Delta and GM executive Gil West its top boss earlier this year.

Shares of Hertz have fallen by about 67% this year.
