MILAN — Italian lighting firm Stilnovo has made its first return to Milan since the 1960s, in the historic center of the city.
Its parent company Linea Light Group has opened the doors to its new Light Hub showroom, which includes new Stilnovo’s 21st-century home. A homage to its historic imprint on Italian design, the ’50s Saliscendi lamps by brothers Achille, Livio and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni are featured in a window showcase.

The 1957 Stilnovo Sputnik pendant lamp also features prominently inside the store. Fashioned with rays that expand in all directions, it is a testament to an era of growth fueled by the design vision of famed designers and architects like the Castiglionis, Ettore Sottsass and many more.
Downstairs on the basement level, the Systems and Outdoor area is dedicated to the group’s technical products and project consultancy arm that provides support for architects and lighting designers.
Stilnovo was founded in Milan in 1946 by Bruno Gatta. In the ’50s it had a showroom in Via Durini and then later in Via Turati. By 1965 the entire production of the firm was moved to the Lainate site on the outskirts of Milan.
Linea Light Group bought the firm in 2019, after a period of dormancy that began in the ’90s.
Linea Light Group is a Treviso-based company founded in 1976 and is a pioneer in LED technology. Overall the firm said in the last fiscal year it booked a consolidated turnover of almost 100 million euros. It has three production facilities in Italy, the U.S. and China, as well as 13 subsidiaries and more than 530 employees around the world, thus reinforcing the company’s international identity. About 70 percent of its sales are booked abroad, with 30 percent generated in Italy.
“The opening of our first showroom in Milan as Linea Light Group is an important step,” said the group’s chief executive officer Gianni Bolzan in a statement, adding that Milan is the international design capital. “Our group can now showcase and demonstrate its vision of contemporary lighting through the Light Hub.”
In 2025, the company said it plans to increase business partnerships for Stilnovo with an appearance at Maison & Object in January in Paris, with the launch of the new product collections by the spring of 2025.
