Presto Automation has unveiled its latest innovation, Presto Voice with Pure AI, to further streamline how restaurants handle orders.
The new feature improves customer experience by utilising advanced Voice AI technology.
It will minimise the need for human intervention at the early stages of the ordering process.
The Pure AI feature is autonomous and operates without humans-in-the-loop - known as HITL - allowing AI to attempt to complete orders independently.
It only transitions to a restaurant team member when it determines it cannot process an order.
Presto Voice with Pure AI offers advantages including decreased delays and improved speed of service, leading to a faster and more seamless ordering experience.
It also aims to reduce guest frustration by providing a direct escalation path to restaurant staff when necessary.
Presto interim CEO Gee Lefevre said: “Presto Voice Pure AI represents a major leap forward in restaurant automation technology, providing operators with a Voice AI-powered solution to deliver an efficient drive-through ordering experience to their guests.”
The Pure AI feature will accelerate the training of the AI, leading to a more consistent ordering experience for both staff and customers.
Presto is currently conducting live tests of Presto Voice with Pure AI. Upon successful completion, it will expand the deployment of the tech to several customer locations that have already expressed interest, with a shorter ramp-up period.
In August 2023, Presto signed agreements with 13 quick-serve restaurant franchise groups which own more than 500 locations across the US, to implement Presto Voice, a drive-through automation solution.
In September, CKE Franchise Group StarCorp selected Presto as its voice AI technology vendor for 58 of its Carl’s Jr restaurant locations in the US. StarCorp later implemented Presto’s Voice tech after a successful six-month trial at two outlets.
"Presto introduces new Voice AI feature to streamline restaurant operations" was originally created and published by Verdict Food Service, a GlobalData owned brand.
