AKIKO FUJITA: Let's get back to the news out of Apple, with that event wrapping up in the last hour. Dan Howley has been tracking all the developments on that front. Dan.

DAN HOWLEY: Yeah, we just got done with the event. There's going to be four new iPhones, as we had expected. Pricing goes from $699 for the smallest-- that's the iPhone 12 Mini with the 5.4 inch display-- all the way up to $1,099 for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. That will have the largest screen on an iPhone ever, at 6.7 inches. So it's going to be a pretty big mama jama, as people say. I don't know why I said that.

It will also have the A14 bionic processor in it. That's across the board, from the regular 12s to the 12 Pros. So that means you're not going to have to suffer any kind of degradation as far as if you want to go for the less expensive device versus the more expensive.

The big difference between the two versions, the 12 and the 12 Pro, is that the 12 Pro get a telephoto lens and improved low light capabilities. Now that doesn't mean that the 12s don't get improved low light capabilities. They do as well. They're just not going to be as good as the 12 Pros.

And as far as 5G, one of the big announcements there was that obviously these phones will be the first iPhones to get 5G capabilities. That's going to be across the entire line. And it's going to be ultra wide broadband, as well as mid and low range broadband 5G.

Basically, this was also a coming out party for our parent company Verizon's nationwide 5G network. That's been something that Verizon has struggled with. Whereas T-Mobile and AT&T have been able to say they have 5G nationwide, Verizon hasn't been able to do that quite yet.

And then today was basically their announcement saying, here's the new iPhone. Here's our network. And you can see, you know, there was kind of this branding between the two companies where Apple is talking about Verizon having kind of a big hand in their 5G launch.

So, really a kind of a huge event for Apple. We also saw the new HomePods and the fact that they're not going to have AirPods in the iPhone boxes anymore. So, make sure you have your headphones with you.
