All three of the major indexes (^DJI,^GSPC, ^IXIC) closed higher on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 both ending the day at record highs. The major averages dipped a bit following disappointing consumer confidence data, but ultimately recovered. The US markets got a boost after China announced plans to stimulate its economy.
