Jamie Dimon would be an 'amazing' Treasury secretary: Mark Cuban

Mark Cuban has hit the campaign trail for Vice President Kamala Harris. The billionaire entrepreneur sat down with Julie Hyman and Josh Lipton on Asking for a Trend.

Despite making comments about being open to taking on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chair role, Cuban quickly dismissed the idea. "No chance whatsoever. That was just me trolling," Cuban tells Yahoo Finance. The businessman says, "What I'm doing with CostPlusDrug.com is changing the pharmaceutical industry. We're saving patients millions and millions of dollars, and that's something I'm really proud of. And I think I can have more impact on healthcare from that direction."

While Cuban isn't interested in a Cabinet position himself, he comments on a New York Times report that JPMorgan (JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon is a private supporter of Harris and would consider a position in her administration, like the Treasury secretary. "I think it would be great," Cuban says, adding "I'd love Jamie and I think he'd do an amazing job."

He explains, "Just having the conversation with him sends the message that Kamala Harris is a hardcore capitalist, that she wants businesses of all sizes to grow. She understands that if we're going to reduce the deficit, we not only have to cut costs, we not only have to improve efficiency, but we have to know how to grow the economy. And that's something Jamie has proven that he can do with his companies and helping others."
