Job market has entered 'The Great Stay': Career expert

According to new ADP data, private job growth slowed in July, with 122,000 new jobs added, falling below estimates. Andrew McCaskill, LinkedIn Career Expert, joins Wealth! to discuss the current state of the job market.

McCaskill observes that currently, "employers are in the pole position," with more individuals staying in their jobs. He notes that "the great resignation... is over," calling this period "the beginning of the great stay." Given the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming election and market conditions, McCaskill believes individuals are opting to remain in their current positions.

He also points out that while companies are still hiring, the market is "highly competitive," which may explain why some job seekers are struggling to secure employment. Though, he notes individuals should focus on improving their skills and thinking about what they actually want from a company when seeking for new employment.
