McDonald's Quarter Pounders linked to E. coli outbreak

McDonald's (MCD) shares sank in after-hours trading Tuesday after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that 10 people are hospitalized and one has died from an E. coli outbreak, with "most sick people ... reporting eating Quarter Pounder hamburgers from McDonald’s." The release adds that "McDonald’s stopped using fresh slivered onions and quarter-pound beef patties in several states while the investigation is ongoing to identify the ingredient causing illness." Most of the illnesses have been reported in Colorado and Nebraska.
