Stocks look to extend highs, Walmart earnings beat estimates: Yahoo Finance

All three of the major indexes (^DJI,^GSPC, ^IXIC) are looking to extend their gains after closing at new records. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is within striking distance of 40,000, and the S&P 500 on Wednesday closed above 5,300 for the first time. One stock on the move is Walmart (WMT). The retail giant posted first-quarter results that topped analyst estimates on both the top and bottom lines thanks, in part, to a boost in its e-commerce business. Yahoo Finance will speak with Walmart CFO John David Rainey at 9:15 a.m. ET. Other trending tickers on Yahoo Finance include Baidu (BIDU), Chubb Limited (CB), and Nvidia (NVDA).
