Amazon Q2 revenue falls short, Q3 outlook disappoints

Amazon (AMZN) reported mixed second quarter results. Earnings of $1.26 per share exceeded estimates of $1.04. Net sales of $147.98 billion was just shy of the expected $148.78 billion.

The e-commerce giant's Q3 operating income forecast was also short of estimates. Amazon expects $11.5 billion to $15 billion. The Street was looking for $15.66 billion, based on the Bloomberg consensus.

For AWS, net sales were $26.28 billion topping estimates of $25.98 billion.
