Baker Hughes and Repsol have partnered to develop next-generation AI capabilities through the Leucipa automated field production solution.

This strategic collaboration aims to deploy AI-powered automation workflows across Repsol’s global assets, enhancing operational capabilities and efficiency while reducing emissions.

The partnership will focus on leveraging its combined expertise to optimise production and improve efficiency through the Leucipa solution.

This technology will be designed to enable proactive management of oil and gas production, targeting specific operational outcomes and utilising data for intelligent operations.

Baker Hughes oilfield services & equipment executive vice-president Amerino Gatti said: “Artificial intelligence is revolutionising energy production, and Leucipa enables companies to operate more efficiently to recover more from their assets.

“Repsol has long been a trusted collaborator, and their support has helped Leucipa develop into the industry’s most innovative and effective digital production software. We are excited to work together to accelerate the energy industry’s digital evolution.”

Repsol has already integrated Leucipa across its operations, optimising its digital infrastructure and capabilities.

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed last week will further enhance this partnership and solidify Repsol's position in the industry, creating new commercial opportunities for Leucipa.

In a recent development, Baker Hughes introduced CarbonEdge, a risk management tool for carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) projects.

CarbonEdge offers an integrated dashboard for managing the entire CCUS project life cycle, from carbon capture and compression to pipeline transport and subsurface storage, providing seamless connectivity and real-time insights.
