Capitalize on Microsoft, skip Groupon: Good Buy or Goodbye

In This Article:

On today's Good Buy or Goodbye, host Julie Hyman is joined by Headline Venture Partner Kamran Ansari to discuss his personal stock picks in the tech sector.

Ansari recommends Microsoft (MSFT) as a top stock to buy. He points out that the company's current valuation is down, presenting an opportunity for investors. Additionally, he believes the rotation away from tech stocks is overhyped, stating "we're in the early innings of the AI revolution" and suggesting that capital expenditure shouldn't deter investors. Lastly, Ansari emphasizes that Microsoft stands to benefit from its AI investments in the long run. Microsoft reported a second quarter earnings beat this past Tuesday.

On the other hand, Ansari advises avoiding Groupon (GRPN) stock. He notes that the "entire company has shrunk," resulting in declining revenue. Furthermore, their second quarter earnings reported a net loss, which he believes will be "reflected in the stock price." Ansari also points out that Groupon is no longer a top consumer brand, further diminishing its appeal as an investment.
